Record Retention Check
Coming soon. Before you delete collection records: what you must keep, for how long, and what you must dispose of.
Checks each record before deletion: Reg F keeps collection records until 3 years after the last collection activity and call recordings 3 years after the call (12 CFR 1006.100), ACH authorizations 2 years after they end (Nacha), TCPA consent proof for the 4-year claim period, and Form 1099-C copies 3 years from the due date. Applies the FTC Safeguards Rule duty to dispose of customer information within 2 years of last use when no law requires keeping it (16 CFR 314.4(c)(6)), blocks deletion during litigation holds and open regulator inquiries, and adds your state license and client-contract periods when you supply them. Returns keep, hold, may delete, dispose now or review, with the keep-until date and the rule behind it. Up to 5,000 records per call; record types and dates only. Early access pending legal review. Not legal advice.
