Live. Build paid-in-full and settled-in-full confirmation letters, with a close-out checklist so the account is never collected, sold or misreported again.

Send your business name and, for each account, the letter type (paid in full or settled in full), the last 4 of the account number, the final payment date, the amount paid, the balance before the deal and the creditor. You get a ready letter with merge fields for the consumer's name and address (DebtLayer never receives them), or the reason it is blocked: payment not cleared or returned, a future date, or a type that does not match the amounts. Each letter comes with a close-out checklist: stop all contact, never sell or place the account again (Reg F 1006.30(b)), update the credit bureaus (FCRA 623(a)(2), Metro 2 status), recall it from any agency, a Form 1099-C pointer for forgiven amounts, record retention (Reg F 1006.100) and remittance.
